FC Buzz Goes Live, a new collaborative project among eleven of Fairfield County’s best cultural organizations, will be at the Gallery of Contemporary Art at Sacred Heat University on Sunday, Sept. 12th.
The Gallery will be hosting an opening reception for the exhibit entitled, Juxtapositions: The Collector, the Art and the Collection; Caribbean, Latin American Works from the Ben Ortiz Collection. The reception begins at 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. with live jazz and refreshments.
Collections are about passion. Ben Ortiz has been a passionate and dedicated collector, focusing predominantly on the richness of figurative art depicted by Latin American and Caribbean artists. This is a small selection of narrow focus, works that depict a connection–between figures, between the viewer and the subject, or between the artist and their country of origin.
In October FCBuzz Goes Live at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University. Join us on Friday, Oct. 1 at 8 pm to see Doug Varone and Dancers. This presentation is one among the Dance America offerings.
FCBuzz Goes Live was created by the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County in partnership with the Westport Arts Center, Westport Country Playhouse, Fairfield Museum and History Center, Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo, Gallery of Contemporary Art at Sacred Heart University, Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University, Fairfield Theatre Company, Westport Historical Society, Silvermine Guild Arts Center, Fairfield Arts Council and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking
