 Learn to cut & pin fabric, to piece fabrics, to stitch seams and complete a personal pillowcase and PJ pants. Understand basic sewing terminology, to use a sewing machine and to sew basic seams. Learn to follow a pattern, determine pattern size, sew a curved seam, add an elastic waistband, hem a garment and sew your own comfy pants! Intended for children 8 years & older. You are required to bring your own sewing machine for this class. No previous experience is necessary.

Kristin Quell-Garguilo is an artistic scientist. As a true Renaissance Woman she dabbles in engineering, knitting, environmental science, sewing, geology, bread baking, sustainability and so much more. “ I follow my interests with a fervent  passion and have been lucky to have been given the opportunity to teach them.” Kristin is has been teaching in both the sciences and arts for 15+ years. “I’m looking forward to sharing my love of fabric and fiber arts with the Ridgefield Guild of Artists. I’m so excited for the knots and knowledge we will accomplish together.”
